Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

  • PluralityLanguage.COM is not affiliated with the United States Foreign Service Insitute.
  • PluralityLanguage.COM is THE Publisher of the United States Foreign Service Institute Language programs on compact disc and DVD.
  • ForeignServiceInstitute.COM is not affiliated with the United States State Department. We are the publishers of their language courses, which all bear the U.S. State department seal as well as Foreign Service Institute coat of arms. We use the U.S. State department seal and Foreign Service Institute coat of arms as "fair use" due to the fact that all materials presented bear said seal and coat of arms and any representation without said seal and coat of arms would be false advertising. These are the original, unabridged courses that have all been professionally remastered, digitized, cleaned up using Tascam Pro Audio equipment and software. Other course material available is, in our opinion, of inferior quality due to high compression rates, and just the lack of time and money invested they we have spent to maintain these courses. We copyright our courses because of the remastering process, and any use of our materials used for redistribution will be prosecuted in a court of law. We take our time seriously, as well as the capital invested. Any representation that our courses can be found for free is false. Our CD's are the best quality available, and our MP3 on DVD uses the least compression available: 300 Kbps over 300 KHz. Which makes the file size extremely large, and therefore, not really feasible to offer the course as a download. If you download a smaller file, then your quality is decreased, and you don't experience the frequency range that is required for a number of our language courses due to the inherent nature of "tone languages." If your tone is inaccurate the course is worthless and you are truly wasting your time.
